Peggy Duncan was born and raised in the sprawling countryside surrounding Tampa, Florida. Time spent in the Blue Ridge Mountains deepened her love of the beauty of the world around her. In 1979 she left the rolling scenery of North Carolina for the flat vistas and lush, incorrigible gardens of the South Carolina Lowcountry, where she resided until 2006 when she moved back to the mountains of Western North Carolina.

While her work is representational, Peggy is not concerned with pure realism. There is an animated quality to her trees and flowers. "I communicate my response to the subject through interpretation of color and light."
While pastels are her first love, she also works in oils and acrylics. She uses all three to obtain fresh, vibrant color and a spontaneous, intuitive feeling.

Her work has been accepted in over 40 regional and national shows, and hangs in private collections across the country and overseas.
