A Note About Charlotte Riley-Webb
Charlotte Riley-Webb celebrates the joy of close
family ties of her African-American family and community. Her
boldly colorful acrylics are painted in a highly rhythmic style,
and are frenetic tributes to the life she has experienced and
loved. Her themes are drawn from day-to-day experiences: music,
sewing, growing up with siblings.
Based outside Atlanta in the town of Locust
Grove, Georgia, Charlotte has exhibited in museums and galleries
throughout the southeast region, and her work is collected
nationwide.
In 2001, Charlotte was one of 20 African-American
artists nationwide to be selected by Absolut Vodka to do a
commissioned piece for a special issue of Savoy magazine.
