A Note About Patricia Beatty

Patricia Beatty retired from her career in psychiatric nursing to devote herself to art in 1980. She found success in her new-found job as artist.

Beatty sees herself as a visual poet, working in an ancient and metaphysical language of form and color. Working with the visual artifacts that she "discovers," she catalogs and reflects on the collected images. The forms she works with are drawn from folk art, expressionism, dreams and children's imagery.

The abstract mixed media pieces that result from the process are at once patternistic yet random. The colors are rich, and carefully harmonized. Pluff Mudd/Crossroads carries only one-of-a-kind monotypes created by the artist.

We receive numerous inquiries regarding pieces by Patricia that you have seen elsewhere, and would like to acquire. If you saw it elsewhere, you will not find it at Pluff Mudd.

Patricia lives and works in Tempe, Arizona.
